Welcome to the
website of Sunny Lane
School and we hope that you find this site informative, giving
you an initial insight into our school. However, this is no
substitute for seeing a school in action and we invite you to
visit us at Alsancak whenever you would like to make an
appointment. We will always remember that the most important
person in our school is your child.
Sunny Lane School was opened in 2001 as an independent Primary
School with just 12 pupils. Today it has expanded into a
school with Primary and Secondary Departments catering for
children from two and a half to sixteen years of age; its
numbers have risen to around 250 and its teachers to over 25.
We are the only school in the country following the English
National Curriculum, but with paired English and Turkish
teaching teams up to Year 4 ensuring that our Turkish-speaking
students learn English, while all English-speaking students
learn Turkish, as their second modern language. The success of
our school in all areas has created very high demand for
places, often for several years into the future.
Sunny Lane School is a friendly, family, independent school
located in a beautiful and friendly country. It offers good
standards of English education and works with the TRNC
Ministry of Education to advise on improving standards in
local public schools.
